While I am feeling better and not nauseous today I stayed back at the hotel because my stomach still hurts and I still feel weak. Hopefully I will be feeling better by tomorrow. Tomorrow is our (the interns) adventure day. Not sure how we are going to spend it but I'm sure it will be exciting.
Now to update about the center. I am spending most of my days in the Canary room (there are 4 other groups, the chicks, the bunnies, the ducks and the squirrels) The canaries are the youngest babies. There are 23 of them total and usually only 2 workers in the room with them. Can you imagine that?! Two ladies caring for 23 infants, folding all their clothes, washing the room, cleaning all their bottles and plates and changing all those diapers! It is unimaginable in Canada and The US. Even though I know it is wrong to I have a couple favorites of the canaries... My little miss Suzana, She is 5 months old and the sweetest chubbiest baby. She is always smiling and very strong. Lesvia, She is 5 months also but very floppy, She has very little muscle tone and needs a lot of support. It's her big cheeks that get me every time. Then there is my Jaqueline, She is 2.5 and walking and can understand everything you tell her. She is so smart and her laugh is precious. She is in the canary room only because she was brought to the center 12 days ago and just came back from the hospital. They put all the new children in the canary room for awhile so they can make sure they are doing well. I cannot wait to go back on Monday and see all my g'babies again!
