Today was our first day at the center... It was very overwhelming to see everyone's reactions to the children and their conditions. The kids were so sweet and as we approached the doors of the center you could hear the kids voices saying in Spanish "The Americans are here! The Americans are here!" You knew that they were just as excited to see us as we were to them!

Today I had many chances to improve my Spanish talking with the workers and asking our translators Alejandra and Olivia how to say certain words, Today I learned how to say Bib (Babero), Mattress (Colchon), Lice (Piojos), Blood (Sangre) and some others that I just can't seem to remember now. One of my big goals this summer is to be able to speak Spanish much better then I already do :)

I am really looking forward to the rest of the week with this team!
