Well now. Today was pretty good. The kids do well without a team here and are even more excited when I come into their rooms. Today was a visitation day, so there were A LOT of parents here. about 3/4 of all the kids had either a mom or more here visiting them which was really nice to see. There was one little girl of about 3 years old here who I suppose was visiting a sibling who burst into tears anytime I walked past... She didn't like the "gringa"
For those of you waiting for a "Madelyn Update" Her mama was here for her today and they both looked so so happy together.

I was really impressed (though I know I shouldn't have been) at the amount of parents and how caring and excited they were towards their children. I guess I have just had it in my head that some dropped off their kids because they didn't care, where I know now that it is the opposite, they dropped them off because they care so much. I caught one father (Carla's dad) when he had to leave give her back to the worker and then walk away, but only to peek around the corner a minute or so later to make sure she was doing well. Sweet gestures like that just melt my heart. It shows that parents are parents. They love their children where ever they are. In Canada, The USA, or Guatemala.

The center really revolves around their 3 meals. I am not use to eating this much at home and they want so much for me to be well fed and happy that they are set on feeding me as much as I can possibly eat. It is crazy. Today at lunch though I had a good conversation with the doctor. He speaks a fair amount of English so he would ask something in English with some Spanish through out and I would respond in Spanish with a few English words here and there. It was really nice talking with someone who I could really talk about anything with because if I didn't know the Spanish word for it, I could say it in English, he would understand and then he could teach me the Spanish word.
